SYDNEY, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- A teenage boy has been charged after police in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) found firearms, knives and cannabis on him and in the vehicle he was driving.
The NSW Police Force said in a statement on Saturday that officers saw the vehicle performing burnouts in a car park off Woodville Road, around 20 km west of central Sydney, at about 9:30 p.m. local time on Friday.
Police arrested the alleged driver, a 17-year-old boy, at the scene, and conducted a search of the boy and the vehicle. Officers located two Glock-style firearms, one of which police allege was down the front of the boy's pants. They also located two knives, a balaclava, a set of stolen number plates, and cannabis in the car.
Police also found that the boy was disqualified from driving until next July and that the vehicle was displaying number plates registered to a different vehicle. ■
